Sponsoring an SVBC event is a wonderful way to contribute to a safer, healthier, friendlier, more diverse, more equitable, more inclusive, more efficient, more economical, less congested, and less polluted community. It also allows you to communicate your company’s commitment to these values as sponsors are recognized in a variety of ways before, during, and after each event.

Below please find more information about the specific audience and marketing opportunity associated with each event. Sponsorship packages can be customized to meet the specific needs of your organization.

1. Bike to Wherever Day (BTWD) & Bike Month – Sponsorship Deadline: February 15th, 2024.

BTWD is the region’s signature event designed to encourage folks to give bicycling anywhere a try. A positive experience on BTWD inspires new bicyclists to continue the habit year-round. We have a month long program with classes and social bike rides to spread bicycling love and awareness.

Typical participation: 45,000 people per year.

Marketing Opportunity: BTWD offers sponsors the opportunity to have their logos on bags, t-shirts, bike jerseys, posters and other items distributed to bicyclists and the general public. Sponsors are also gratefully acknowledged on our website, in emails, in press releases, and via social media channels.

2. Bike Summit – Sponsorship Deadline: June 17th, 2024.

Bike Summit is Silicon Valley’s largest gathering of active transportation leaders in government, the private sector, non-profits, and the general public that come together to talk about the best ways to make our communities safe and friendly for bicyclists of all ages and abilities. Improving infrastructure and policies is the most important way to get more people bicycling.

Typical participation: 350 people per year.

Marketing Opportunity: A Bike Summit sponsorship is a great way to connect with and have visibility in front of elected officials, city staff, businesses, and community members who are most active in biking advocacy. Sponsors have the opportunity to take on speaking roles in the program. We also gratefully acknowledge sponsors on all relevant signage as well as on our website and via social media channels.

3. Annual Bike Ride Fundraiser – Sponsorship Deadline: June 17th, 2024.

SVBC’s Annual fundraising bike ride attracts 500 riders. Unlike a typical charity ride, it is designed to attract all types of riders with components that draw the different subcultures of the bike community, like a bike scavenger hunt. Most importantly, the ride is urban, intentionally routing participants through street improvements, innovative designs, and new bike infrastructure that SVBC had a hand in making possible so that participants learn about bike infrastructure while riding.

Marketing Opportunity: The Annual Bike Ride Fundraiser offers visibility in front of committed cyclists who have provided significant financial resources to support the bike movement. All sponsors are gratefully acknowledged on event signage, website, emails, press releases, and via social media while top sponsors are also included on jerseys and mentioned from the stage. Sponsors are also encouraged to create corporate teams as a way of building employee morale, health, team cohesion, and pride. If your company has a strong riding culture or wants to develop one, this is a great way to show your support. Sponsor the event, organize a team, and come out and ride!

4. Member Party and Miscellaneous Sponsorships

SVBC has several additional sponsorship opportunities including jersey sponsorships, hosting parties, and vendor space. See below for more information about the opportunity and sponsor benefits.

Hosting Opportunities

SVBC hosts a variety of events throughout the year

Does your organization have space to host an event? We actively look for venues to host our Bike Summit, member parties, and a location to stage our Fundraiser Ride.

Hosting is an excellent opportunity to build goodwill with bicyclists, environmentalists, and local communities.

MARKETING OPPORTUNITY: Host logo/name is featured at the event, and on marketing materials for the event including SVBC website, emails, social media, and Eventbrite.

Many of our major events need hosts who provide facilities for an event. These are unique non-monetary sponsorship opportunities where the host receives special recognition.
